I'm studying English (C1 level) in the lenguage school of my city at the moment. This is the list of books my teacher advice us. In my opinion, it's not a good idea to buy dictionaries. There are a lot of good programs or websites that you can use free and you will find the words faster. Actually you'll be able to listen the pronuntiation too. Otherwise, I have used "Essential Grammar in use" and "English Grammar in use and I think they are very good books.
